The first floor of the unassuming building that houses Blatt Billiards on Broadway in the heart of New York City's Greenwich Village is a gaming treasure trove filled with poker tables, darts and boards, chess sets, juke boxes reminiscent of the 1950s, and of course, pool tables. Stacks and stacks of pool tables.

The upper floors of the building house equally precious but unseen jewels that a visitor would have to know about and ask to see: antique and custom tables. A surprising ride on an old, manual elevator leads to magnificent stacks of rare, breathtaking antiques on the second floor and more than 40 samples of exquisite custom tables on the fourth floor. Better still, the tables are hand crafted on the third floor and finished on the fifth floor in the way that furniture makers worked more than 100 years ago.

Blatt Billiards' tables are custom crafted one at time with rare woods—such as ebony, elm, burl, mahogany, rosewood, birdseye, and maple—and in finishes tailored specifically to customers' requests. Final finishes are custom blended by Blatt, which is said to provide the best dyes and finish coats in the business.
