Murphy Brothers was founded in 1979 by Chris and Sean Murphy in Larchmont, New York. The firm has continued to grow and prosper from its beginnings as a local contractor, specializing in high end residential remodeling projects. Today, services have expanded to include general contracting, construction management, and owner representative services for both residential and commercial projects.

In large part, this growth can be attributed to the relationships these two brothers have built and maintained with some of the best craftsmen, trades people, and design professionals in our area. Murphy Brothers' portfolio now spans the border of New York and Connecticut, reaching into many historic towns and villages, and highlights distinctive homes and clubs nestled along the shore of Long Island Sound.

Chris Murphy, President and Construction Director, is a "builder" in every sense of the word. Throughout his career, he has built teams, systems, and lasing relationships - all of which enhance his ability to spearhead complex construction applications. Chris Murphy's commitment to be at the forefront of an ever changing industry, combined with his knowledge and expertise, has resulted in his being recognized as a leader in this industry.

Sean Murphy, Vice President and Operations Director, is also a seasoned construction professional, whose vision and focus have helped shape this exceptional company. Sean's expertise and skills impact all of Murphy Brothers' projects from inception. He coordinates the various aspects of design, budgeting, coordination, and planning - all essential elements for a successful project.

Many members of the Murphy Brothers team have been with the company for years. These hard working, innovative individuals have been personally mentored by Chris and Sean, and are guided by the example set by these two unique individuals. All of these factors result in a company which is motivated and guided by the highest principles, and is evident in their distinctive culture and philosophy.

Operations

The support staff enhances the management and flow of information that each project generates. Estimates, change-orders, request for information, submittals, schedules, coordination and material acquisition are done through a networking process. On-site Project Managers may be linked with suppliers, support staff, production managers, architects, designers, and clients.

Projects are monitored and documented with digital photography and voice. It keeps the fl ow of information up to the minute, an essential component of effective communication. The key ingredient in any coordinated effort.
