"Not only can the customer see the finished product beautifully displayed at the store but they can select a few curtains and take them home for 48 hours, hang them in their home, and make sure they are perfect before they buy," says owner Kara Licata, who can provide everything from in-home consultations to custom installation.

Curtains not only add drama and decorative value to a room, but also they help insulate, keeping the cold air out in the winter and helping to keep a room cool in the summer. Curtains also can be hung over doorways and arches to create a mood, often suitable for older homes.

The Curtain Exchange of Westchester offers ready-to-hang curtains in a variety of luxurious fabrics: silks from India, Thailand, and Italy mixed with linens from Turkey and Holland, as well as imported chenille, sheers, velvets, and crewels. Better still, the store offers these designer-quality curtains, lined and interlined, without the usual waiting period and can custom-create curtains if you want something wider, longer or with a different heading or look. All the curtains are made in the United States to the highest quality standards.

"There is something for everyone," says Licata. "We're all about making the process easy and the end result fabulous."

A window covering boutique with more than 20 retail locations throughout the United States, The Curtain Exchange was founded in New Orleans by Georgina O'Hara Callan in 1996. After hurricane Katrina, the headquarters moved to Dallas, Texas.
